Atsuko Maeda's AKB48 Graduation Draws 229,096 Requests for 250 Seats

AKB48 received 229,096 applications for 250 seats at the final performance of Atsuko Maeda before she "graduates" from the idol group. Maeda's last performance as part of AKB48 will take place at the group's Akihabara theater in Tokyo next Monday. The record number of applications outstripped the number of available seats 916.38 times over.
As a result, Maeda will ride a vehicle in a farewell procession around the theater so she can greet the general public who was not able to get tickets. The procession will start at 3:30 p.m. next Monday.
