posted on by Egan Loo
North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Saturday that it acquired the Campione! television anime series. The anime will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow next year.
Jō Taketsuki's original light novels centers around Godō, an ordinary high school student who kills a god and claims its powers. As a result, Godō becomes a Campione who slays other gods.
The series stars Yōko Hikasa as Erica Blandelli and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Godō Kusanagi. It also stars Yui Ogura and Rina Hidaka as Atena and Shizuka Kusanagi, respectively. Ogura will make her solo singing debut with the ending theme song "Raise" for the anime. Megu Sakuragawa is singing the opening theme song "Brave Blade!"
Keizō Kusakawa (Dog Days, Ro-Kyu-Bu!) is directing the anime off scripts supervised by Jukki Hanada (Princess Jellyfish, Rozen Maiden). Masakazu Ishikawa (Squid Girl) is designing the character designs, and Tatsuya Katou (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, MEDAKA BOX) is scoring the music.
Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream this series as it airs in Japan.
