posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The official website for June's Kingdom television anime series began streaming the series' first trailer on Saturday. The 38-episode series will premiere on June 4 with a 50-minute first episode.
Based on Yasuhisa Hara's historical manga, the series follows Li Xin and Hyō, two boys without families in the Warring States Period when China has been embroiled in war for five centuries. Despite living like slaves, the boys strive to realize their dream of becoming warlords.
Jun Kamiya (D.I.C.E., Blue Seed, The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye) will direct the series, and Naruhisa Arakawa (Blue Seed, Steel Angel Kurumi, Elemental Gelade) will be in charge of series scripts.
The manga has been running in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine since 2006, and the 26th volume shipped in Japan earlier this month.
