Steins;Gate Game's First Drama CD Gets Manga
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
A manga adaptation of the Steins;Gate Aishin Meizu no Babel drama CD will debut in the June issue of Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine on May 15. The artist Shinichirō Nariie (Daily Lives of High School Boys Anthology) will illustrate the series.
Aishin Meizu no Babel shipped in Japan in March 2010 as the Steins;Gate adventure game's first drama CD. The CD's story is told from the perspective of Kurisu Makise, the main female character in the original game and its adaptations.
The original game is the second "scientific adventure game" from 5pb. and Nitroplus, who also created Chaos;HEAd. The artist huke (Black Rock Shooter) designed the characters. The suspense story takes place in a realistic version of Tokyo's Akihabara otaku shopping district.
The Steins;Gate television anime adaptation premiered in Japan from April to September 2011, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside Japan as it aired. Funimation announced at Anime Expo in July that it acquired the anime for release in North America. A film adaptation has also been green-lit.
