NIS America (NISA) announced on Thursday that it has acquired the home video rights to the Brave 10 television anime series. NISA will specify the release date, product details, and the details on the premium edition packaging at a later date.
Crunchyroll revealed on Wednesday that it will stream the series as it airs in Japan, starting on Tuesday, Janaruy 10 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
The story reimagines the legendary adventures of the 10 brave warriors assembled by the warlord Sanada Yukimura in the year 1600, in the middle of Japan's tumultuous Sengoku (Warring States) era.
Manga creator Kairi Shimotsuki launched the Brave10 S (Spiral) continuation of her original Brave 10 manga in the first issue of Monthly Comic Gene in June. Tokyopop acquired Shimotsuki's first Brave 10 manga series, but did not publish the manga before closing its North American publishing division in May.
Tokyopop did publish Shimotsuki's Madness manga in North America. Shimotsuki also launched her adaptation of Hideyuki Kikuchi's Makai Ishi Mephisto novel series in Monthly Comic Gene this past summer.
