The U.K. release of Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW has been pushed back to July 2 next year, Manga Entertainment confirmed by twitter. According to Manga, the reason was to spend more time on the dub, which is the first to be co-produced by Manga Entertainment since Satoshi Kon's Millennium Actress. Manga is working on the film with NYAV Post, which also worked on the dub of Summer Wars.
Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW was previously scheduled for a December 5 release on DVD and Blu-ray. The science-fiction family film sees fifth grader Natsuki Ōyama and four of her schoolmates embark on an space-spanning adventure. Manga described the film as "the bastard love child of Studio Ghibli and Mamoru Hosoda."
Manga made the announcement in response to a twitter query by Josh A. Stevens.
