The Oricon news source listed the main staff for the previously revealed television anime with members of the idol group AKB48:Planning, Supervision: Yasushi Akimoto

Series Script Editor, Scriptwriter: Mari Okada (anohana, Hana-Saku Iroha, Toradora!)
Character Design: Mikan Ehime (Macross Frontier)
Director: Yoshimasa Hiraike (Working!!/Wagnaria!!, Amagami SS, Sketchbook ~full color'S~)
Executive Producer: Toshimichi Ootsuki (New Evangelion films)
Animation Production: Satelight (Macross Frontier, Aquarion, Shugo Chara!)
The anime will center around nine idol candidates who aspire to be "legendary idols," in the motif of AKB48's real-life sōsenkyō (general election) Top 8.
