posted on by Egan Loo
The October issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine announced on Saturday that the Sasamekikoto and Re:Birth —The Lunatic Taker— manga will end in the next issue on September 27.
Takashi Ikeda's Sasamekikoto yuri manga revolves around Sumika, a popular high school honors student who has a secret she does not reveal to anyone: she loves her classmate Ushio. Sumika hears that Ushio is also "a girl who likes girls," but Sumika's feelings have yet to be reciprocated.
This "school drama manga depicting a fresh look at bittersweet adolescence" has been running in Monthly Comic Alive since 2007, and the eighth volume of the manga shipped in February. The manga inspired a television anime that aired in 2009, as well as a screen-kissing iPhone app. Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside Japan as it aired.
Writer Dall-Young Lim (Freezing, Black God, Unbalance Unbalance) and artist Soo-Hyon Lee (Unbalance Unbalance) launched the Re:Birth —The Lunatic Taker— fantasy manga in Monthly Comic Alive in 2009. The sixth compiled book volume shipped in June.
