Moetopia Game/Character Announcement Streamed Live

The Japanese game company Success (Cotton, Metal Saga, Rondo of Swords, Touch Detective) is streaming the press conference for its "moe-themed" portal site Moetopia for free on the Ustream service on Friday at 1:00 p.m. (midnight EDT). The event will unveil the site's moe browser games and its navigation mascot character, "Pia Doll."
Success will outline the details of the new service, its collaborative partners, and sponsored content, among other aspects. In addition to company president Takato Yoshinari and Moetopia producer Tomoyuki Hisanaga, voice actress Tomomi Isomura will appear as the emcee and fellow voice actress Asuka Ōgame will appear as a guest.
The formal launch of the site is slated for some time between late July and early August. Under the site's business model, basic gameplay is free but users can purchase items. Registered users receive a "cute avatar" with which they can communicate with other moe fans and use blogs, Twitter, and other social networking services. The main contents of the site will be social games and titles now under development at Success.
BLADE, the illustrator of Ichiro Sakaki's Magician's Academy light novel series and Konami's Busou Shinki action figure line, created the site's image character. The character will be fully revealed when the beta test starts in early July.
