Boomerang Channel Launches 1st Pokémon in U.S. in April

Boomerang, Cartoon Network's spinoff television channel for "cartoon classics," is beginning its run of the first Pokémon anime series in the United States this month. The series is running every weekday at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT). The first television anime series based on Nintendo's Pokémon game franchise premiered in Japan in 1997, and it then premiered in the United States in 1998. Boomerang has previously shown Voltron (the edited adaptation of Hyakujū Ō Golion) and Battle of the Planets (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman).
The current Pokémon anime series, Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl, launched in Japan in 2006, and it has been running on the main Cartoon Network channel.
