Yumeiro Pâtissière Baking Manga Gets TV Anime in October
posted on by Egan Loo
A listing for collectible cards by the Hobby Base Yellow Submarine retailer has revealed that a television anime adaptation of Natsumi Matsumoto's Yumeiro Pâtissière (Dream-Colored Pastry Chef) shōjo baking manga has been green-lit for an October premiere. The story centers on a 14-year-old girl named Ichigo Amano who wants to be a pâtissière (female pastry chef), but she is stymied by her own clumsiness. One day, she enrolls in St. Mary Academy, a culinary school for sweets, and meets a "spirit of sweets."
The manga debuted in Shueisha's Ribon magazine last September, and two compiled book volumes have been published. Konami has been producing collectible Sweets Deco Cards and My Sweets Cards for the story since last fall. Matsumoto previously created the St. Dragon Girl supernatural adventure manga, and Viz Media is publishing the third volume of St. Dragon Girl in North America this month.
