USA Today Booklist, February 16-22: Naruto Still Strong
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
Generation Ninja, Viz Media's campaign to publish 11 new Naruto volumes from Masashi Kishimoto in three months, is still going strong three weeks after the first four volumes launched on February 3. In the week between February 16 and February 22, all four still held positions on the USA Today newspaper's list of the top 150 bestselling books. However, the sales figures of each individual volume again declined from the previous week's numbers.
Volume 37 was again the highest-selling at #86, which was down from the previous week's #64 ranking. Volume 36 ranked at #96 (down from #70), while volume 35 held the #114 spot (last week, it was #89). Finally, volume 34 was at #125; last week, it was #92. Naruto's next four volumes are slated for March 3, followed by another three on April 3. After the campaign ends, the manga series will return to a publishing schedule of one new book every three months.
