Otaku USA Mag Makes DVD an Annual Extra, Lowers Price

Otaku USA Editor-in-Chief Patrick Macias has announced that his magazine will no longer include a DVD with every bimonthly issue. To compensate, the regular cover price will drop to US$5.99, and readers can access a "virtual DVD" of content on the magazine's website after entering a code printed in each issue. While five out of every six bimonthly Otaku USA issues will not bundle a DVD, the special December issue will still bundle a DVD at the original US$9.99 price every year.

Another North American anime magazine, A.D. Vision's defunct Newtype USA, temporarily dropped its DVD insert from newstand copies in 2004, but restored the DVD extra that same year after customers asked for its return.
