Kannagi is Latest Anime to Order Pizza Hut
posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: Pizza Hut of Japan has announced on Tuesday that Kannagi is the latest anime to get a promotional tie-in with the pizza restaurant chain. The campaign begins with a free promotional video for this anime, which is based on Eri Takenashi's Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens comedy manga. Members of the Pizza Hut Club mobile phone mailing list can also receive free vocal ringtone and wallpaper presents. From now until November 9, all online orders of 1,400 yen (about US$14) or higher will include a postcard depicting the Kannagi cast enjoying a box of pizza. (Unlike in previous campaigns for other anime, Pizza Hut has not indicated that it will put a Kannagi illustration on its actual pizza boxes.) 15 randomly selected online customers will receive copies of dialogue recording scripts, the first volume of the original manga, advertising posters, the opening theme song's CD single, and the official fan club card of the main heroine Nagi — all signed by various character voices.
The anime premiered in Japan on October 4. Pizza Hut has tied its campaigns with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Evangelion, Macross Frontier, and The Sky Crawlers in the past.
