Distant Star Manga's Sahara to Adapt Sukima Switch Songs
posted on by Egan Loo
The November issue (released on September 28) of Hakusensha's Melody magazine has announced that artist Mizu Sahara (The Voices of a Distant Star) will adapt the songs of the male jazz pop duo Sukima Switch as manga stories. The Sukima Shiki series of one-shot stories will launch in the December issue, which will ship on October 28. In addition to adapting Makoto Shinkai's The Place Promised in Our Early Days and The Voices of a Distant Star anime into manga, Sahara drew the manga version of the Our Happy Time (Watashi-tachi no Shiawase na Jikan) novel by South Korea's most popular female novelist, Gong Ji-Young. Sahara also drew the Same Cell Organism and The Day I Become a Butterfly boys-love manga (both translated by North America's Digital Manga Publishing) under the name Sumomo Yumeka.
Sukima Switch performed the "Zenryoku Shōnen" song that served as a theme song on the two-volume Tokyo Marble Chocolate romance anime project. Tokyo Marble Chocolate commemorated the 20th anniversary of both the Production I.G anime studio and the BMG Japan music label.
