posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
Osaka, Japan's second-largest city, plans to host a festival promoting the Japanese popular culture content industry next year. Tokyo, Japan's largest city, already plays host to the annual Tokyo International Anime Fair, Tokyo Game Show, and International Tokyo Toy Show, but the new three-day event, tentatively called Animix 2008 in Osaka, will bring together anime companies with license holders such as toy, game, apparel, and food companies as well as manga publishers. Osaka is already hosting the Asia Contents Market in Kansai for digital content, and the local Kansai region promotes itself as the commercial gateway to the rest of Asia.
