Geneon Japan announces anime adaptation of popular franchise
Geneon Entertainment Japan has announced that there will be a television anime series based on the interactive PC game ef - a fairy tale of the two. The anime, which will be called ef: a tale of memories, was announced at the Geneon promotional event "Rondo Robe 2007," held in Tokyo this past Sunday. Broadcast of the series is slated to begin in the fall, and an OVA is also in the works. Shin Ōnuma (Negima! OVAs) will direct the show.
The announcement of the anime marks another milestone for this romantic drama series, which found popularity in the fan community quickly after its first release. The first ef game was released in December 2006, with a manga based on the game following soon after. The game has been praised for its cinematic elements and character depth.
