Anime Expo® 2007 has announced the ORESKABAND "entertainment ska rock" band as the first Japanese Guests of Honor of the June 29-July 2 convention at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. ORESKABAND is a group of 18-year-old Osaka girls who first met in middle school. TOMI plays bass guitar and sings vocals, TAE-SAN handles the drums, SAKI blows the trumpet, MORIKO plays the tenor saxophone, LEADER plays the trombone, and IKASU plays the guitar and also sings vocals.
In its short career with Sony Music, ORESKABAND has already performed the "Pinocchio" ending theme for Naruto and the "Tsumasaki" ending theme for Bleach. "Pinocchio" has also become the featured song in the official Anime Expo® 2007 commercial. ORESKABAND previously performed this year at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas. The band's breakthrough performance was a song for a Pocky commercial.
