Bandai Namco's Plex Offers 1/60 Wooden Gundams

Design firm's models hand-carved from fir
Plex, a design firm within the Bandai Namco Group, will offer 1/60-scale Gundam models hand-carved entirely from high-grade fir in July. Plex will construct only a limited number based on the original RX-78-2 Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. The 300-millimeter (one-foot) tall models will each come with a beam rifle and a shield in a deluxe case for 50,400 yen (about US$420, tax included).
Previous high-end RX-78-2 Gundam models have included the 350,000-yen (US$2,900), 1500-mm (five-foot) 1/12 HY2M Hyper Hybrid Model plastic kits and the US$260,000, 125-mm (five-inch) 1/144 pure platinum Gundam FIX Platinum display.
