"Forum" is broadcast throughout the San Francisco Bay Area Monday-Friday 9-11. Our authors will be featured on the second half of the show. Patrick Drazen is author of ANIME EXPLOSION: THE WHAT? WHY? & WOW! OF JAPANESE ANIMATION; Helen McCarthy is author of HAYAO MIYAZAKI: MASTER OF JAPANESE ANIMATION and co-author of THE ANIME ENCYCLOPEDIA; and Tomo Machiyama is working with Patrick Macias on a SBP 2004 book that will focus on tourism in Japan for anime fans--he will be in-studio to give the native-Japanese perspective.
[In Japan, Tomo Machiyama is author of UNDERSTANDING CINEMA OF 1968-1978, INQUISITION INTO MOVIES, and OTAKU NO HON(Book of Otaku), which established the word "Otaku" (nerd) in Japanese. He is also founder of Eiga-Hi-Ho (Movie Treasure) magazine, which is the only cult movie magazine in Japan.]
