More Anime than Ever

Asahi reports that despite declining birth rates, There is now more new Anime than ever before
Good news for Anime fans around the world, according to an article posted on Asahi.com, there is now more new Anime in Japan than ever before, this despite a declining birth rate (and therefore a shrinking domestic market).
One of the reasons listed for the increase in new Anime available in Japan is the growing international market for Anime, and the increasing value of licenses.
Additionally new outlets for Anime such as Satelite broadcasting, pay per view and high speed Internet, along with increased merchandising are listed as key factors.
One question raised, is that perhaps the exploding demand for new Anime is outpacing theindustry's ability to produce quality Anime, resulting in more hastily produced, lower quality Anime in the years to come.
