Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro Arrested

Popular Manga Artist arrested for Indecent behaviour with a 16 year old girl.
On August 7th, Kanagawa Prefectural Police and Isesaki Police Station arrested Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro (27), manga artist, for acts that contravene Japan's child prostitution laws.
According to the investigation, on November 12th of last year, Shimabukuro and a 16-year old high school girl met at a hotel in Yokohama. Shimabukuro allegedly paid 80,000 yen for the girl to perform lewd acts.
They apparrently met through a cellphone meeting website where she used a pseudonym and he passed himself off as a businessman from a computer firm. Such websites are commonly used in Japan to arrange anonymous meetings and dates and end up very often being used for child prostitution.
Shimabukuro made his debut in 1996, and best known for "A Tale of a Leader in The End of the Century Takeshi!" , serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. He received a prize in juvenile manga category of the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001 for his work.
