Pompompurin Innisfree Lip Balms Launch in India

K-beauty brand launched its "Cinnamoroll" range of "No Sebum Mineral Powder" in India in mid-January

K-Beauty brand Innisfree launched its "Pompompurin Canola Honey Lip Balm" in India in late March. The product is one of the three Sanrio collaboration products that the skincare brand has launched in several countries in the past month including Japan.

The lip balms featuring everyone's favorite shoe-thief launched in Japan on February 1 at Innisfree stores and online.

The Indian launch follows closely on the heels of Innisfree's surprisingly quiet launch of its "Cinnamoroll" range of "No Sebum Mineral Powder" in India.

The products launched in mid-January with no promotion or fanfare. The loose powders' packaging come in three different designs featuring another well-known lovable canine friend from Sanrio and are available on the brand's Indian website.

While Innisfree's Indian social media has not promoted the new additions to its offering of products, Innisfree's Singaporean Instagram account posted on January 31 promoting the line of mineral powders along with other Sanrio collab items. The "My Melody" cica retinol serums featured in the post remain the only item in the collab to not hit Innisfree's website, kiosks, or pop-up stores in India. The My Melody products also come in a gift pack containing a pouch shaped like Kuromi's adorable best friend, which will hopefully be Innisfree India's next launch.

The Cinnamoroll mineral powders also launched in Japan on February 1 at Innisfree stores and online, and launched at Cocokara Fine stores in Japan from March 1.

The character inspired the Cinnamon the Movie anime in 2007, and he launched his own official YouTube channel in March 2023 with an earlier net anime Cinnamon Anime Damon.

The I.CINNAMOROLL Animation anime debuted in Japan on television in October 2023, and also streams weekly on an official YouTube channel for the anime. The anime features Japanese narration, but the official YouTube channel for the anime does not stream the series with English subtitles currently. Junya Enoki narrates the series.

An English version with English-dubbed narration debuted on November 22.

In Cinnamoroll's origin story, a white dog flew down from the skies one day and was discovered by a female Cafe Cinnamon worker. The "I.Cinnamoroll" brand depicts an alternate world that poses a what-if question: What if Cinnamoroll had not met the Cafe Cinnamon worker on that fateful day? The "I" in the title stands for both the English first-person pronoun "I" and the Japanese word "ai" (love), and it represents the brand's theme of taking care of one's own body and mind.

The Hello Kitty and Friends YouTube channel is streaming episodes of the anime in English weekly, and the episodes are available in India.
