Company's "No Sebum Mineral Powder" available in three different kinds of packaging featuring Sanrio character

K-Beauty brand Innisfree quietly launched its "Cinnamoroll" range of "No Sebum Mineral Powder" in India in mid-January with no promotion or fanfare. The products featuring the cute Sanrio character come in three different kinds of packaging and are available on the brand's Indian website.

While Innisfree's Indian social media has not promoted the new additions to its offering of products, Innisfree's Singaporean Instagram account posted on Friday promoting the line of mineral powders along with other Sanrio collab items. The "My Melody" skincare and "Pompompurin" lip balms featured in the post are not available on the Indian website or at Innisfree pop-ups as of press time.

The Cinnamoroll mineral powders will launch in Japan on February 1 at Innisfree stores and online, and will be available at Cocokara Fine stores in Japan from March 1.

The character inspired the Cinnamon the Movie anime in 2007, and he launched his own official YouTube channel in March 2023 with an earlier net anime Cinnamon Anime Damon.

The I.CINNAMOROLL Animation anime debuted in Japan on television in October 2023, and also streams weekly on an official YouTube channel for the anime. The anime features Japanese narration, but the official YouTube channel for the anime does not stream the series with English subtitles currently. Junya Enoki narrates the series.

An English version with English-dubbed narration debuted on November 22.

In Cinnamoroll's origin story, a white dog flew down from the skies one day and was discovered by a female Cafe Cinnamon worker. The "I.Cinnamoroll" brand depicts an alternate world that poses a what-if question: What if Cinnamoroll had not met the Cafe Cinnamon worker on that fateful day? The "I" in the title stands for both the English first-person pronoun "I" and the Japanese word "ai" (love), and it represents the brand's theme of taking care of one's own body and mind.

The Hello Kitty and Friends YouTube channel is streaming episodes of the anime in English weekly which are available in India.
