Following the openings of two London stores this year, in Camden this summer and at Victoria Place in November, Bandai Namco has announced it will open further UK stores in December:
- A store in Ealing, opening on December 7, featuring Gashapon, Ichibankuji and Sun-Star Stationery.
- A store in Brighton's North Street, opening on December 12, featuring arcade games and Gashapon.
- A store in Sheffield's Meadowhall shopping centre, on December 15, featuring Gashapon and Sun-Star Stationery.
Gashapon are miniature capsule collectibles and vending machines. Ichibankuji means “Number One Lottery,” where tickets are exchanged for prizes such as anime statues and character plushies. Sun-Star Stationery is part of the Bandai Namco Group, creating "cute" and practical stationery and everyday items, some featuring Japanese characters.
According to the announcement, Bandai Namco has plans in 2024 "for larger stores, tours and other brand appearances reaching out to fans nationally."
