posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The evil Team Rocket organization hijacked Pokémon GO Japan Twitter account on July 28 as part of a wider campaign to defeat trainers and invade PokéStops. The Twitter accounts posts are challenging trainers, attempts to recruit new members, and otherwise showing support to the Team Rocket foes.

The Twitter takeover lasted about 12 hours before the account returned to business as usual. Meanwhile, Team Rocket can still be spotted within the game itself as "Team GO Rocket." The Team Rocket members are using Shadow Pokémon that behave strangely and seem to be in pain. Players can restore the discolored PokéStops by battling Team GO Rocket Grunts within the game. After a successful win, players can catch Shadow Pokémon and purify them.
These Purified Pokémon can also become stronger than their normal counterparts.
