After Mikoto Misaka and Tōma Kamijō topped the 2019 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! character poll, they'll have to see how they fare against the rest of the A Certain... franchise. Square Enix opened an official site on Wednesday for the A Certain... franchise's character popularity poll. The poll is to commemorate the pre-registration launch for the upcoming A Certain Magical Index: Imaginary Fest (Toaru Majutsu no Index: Imaginary Fest) smartphone game.

The winning character will be added as a special character after the game launches. Voters can also tweet their picks for a chance to win prizes. Winners will receive signed autographs from the anime and game's voice actors, a signed poster, or a 3,000 yen Amazon gift card.

The site has 50 different characters to choose from with varying prominence within the series.

The "academy supernatural powers battle role-playing game" will launch this year. The game will be free to play, but there will be optional in-game charges. The game will feature characters not just from the anime and anime film projects, but also characters from the novel series and spinoff manga as well. The game will reproduce scenes from the anime in 3D. Players can create "dream teams" of decks of their favorite characters.

Previous mobile games in the franchise include Toaru Majutsu no Index Struggle Battle, which ran from 2012 through March 2018, and Toaru Majutsu to Kagaku no Puzzle Decks, which launched in 2014 and ended service in 2016.

A Certain Magical Index III, the third television anime season based on Kazuma Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index light novel series, premiered in Japan on October 5, and ran for 26 episodes. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The A Certain Scientific Accelerator (Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator) manga is also inspiring a television anime adaptation that will premiere in July.
