Unopened 1999 1st Edition Limited Printing Pokémon TCG Booster Box on Auction
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Huggins & Scott Auctions has another rare Pokémon trading card booster set up for auction until February 13. The auction house previously sold a first edition, unopened box of Pokémon Trading Card game booster packs to the tune of US$66,920. The latest auction is also a first edition unopened booster pack box, this one from 1999.
The box has only had one owner since it was first issued. Inside are 36 11-card packs and each pack contains five common, three uncommon, two energy, and one rare or foil card. Huggins & Scott set the bidding at US$35,000
A previous auction for an unopened booster box has sold for US$54,200 while individual cards from the packs have gone for as much as US$55,650 (and yeah, it was a holographic Charizard).
The ultra-rare Pokémon Illustrator trading card auctioned for US$54,970 in 2016. For those of us who can't go out spending a year's salary on original Pokémon Cards, Japan did a reprint a few years back.
