Level 5 Video Game Characters Go Golfing for 20th Anniversary
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Video game company Level 5, the creators of the Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, and Yōkai Watch game series, are bringing their popular characters together for a relaxing round of golf. Level 5 is adding its characters to SIE's New Minna no GOLF for the PlayStation 4 as part of the company's 20th anniversary campaign.
The "Level 5 20th Anniversary Collaboration Cup" will open twice in the game's "Online Tournament" mode throughout Japan. The collaboration cup's first round will feature costumes from the RPG Dark Cloud. As players progress, more costumes become available like armor from the titular knight in White Knight Chronicles. The preliminary round will start on June 5 followed by the first round on June 11.
The second part of the collaboration cup will introduce Evan and Charity from Ni no Kuni and Professor Layton himself. Players that progress further into the finals will receive Yōkai Watch prizes and character customization. The second qualifying round will start on June 22 followed by the second final on June 29.
Players can also buy Level-5 character golf carts from the PS Store starting on June 5.
Level 5 is known for its multimedia franchises, including Inazuma Eleven, Little Battlers eXperience, Yōkai Watch, and, most recently, Snack World. The company released The Snack World - Trejarers for 3DS last August and released a port for Switch in April. Level-5 also developed Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom with Bandai Namco Entertainment and released it on PlayStation 4 and PC in March.
