Anime studio Shaft (Madoka Magica, Bakemonogatari) will hold a genga (key frame) exhibit at the Marui department store in Yūrakuchō, Tokyo from April 28 to June 3.
The exhibition will showcase art from three Shaft works in three waves: Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden from April 28 to May 8, Monogatari series from May 10-21, Fate/Extra Last Encore from May 23 to June 3. The event will display materials from each work, including reproduction genga, and feature life-size panels that fans can pose with for photographs. The studio's official Twitter account posted several images this week that preview the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden exhibit.
As seen above, the Magia Record smartphone game's exhibit will feature magical girl transformation art and Gekidan Inu Curry's rough designs. People who find a special password at the exhibit and enter it in the LINE app account of the Shaft Ten online shop will receive a special key visual. Admission to the exhibit will be free.
An exhibit shop will offer various merchandise for each work on display. People who spend at least 3,000 yen (about US$28) on designated merchandise with Marui's Epos Card will be able to enter a prize lottery. Prizes will include Madoka Magica canvas boards and postcards.
Shaft previously held "Madogatari" art exhibits in 2015 and 2016 to mark the studio's 40th anniversary.
