Kingdom Manga Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Real Escape Game, Drink, Figure

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The third and fourth combined 2017 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine unveiled on Thursday three more parts of a project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom manga. Shueisha already filmed a special live-action video to mark the anniversary earlier this year.

The magazine announced that SCRAP will hold the "Aru Dai Senjō Kara no Dashutsu" (Escape from that Great Battlefield) Real Escape Game in locations across Japan, starting in Tokyo's Meiji Jingu Stadium on March 24. The attraction will also run in Chiba, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka Prefectures. Regular ticket sales will begin on January 21, and cost 3,400 yen (about US29) for advance tickets and 3,900 yen (US$34) for same-day tickets.

SCRAP's Real Escape Games bring players together in real-life to solve problems and complete tasks within a time limit in order to escape or win the challenge. The company has created games for many anime such as SHOW BY ROCK!!, Attack on Titan, Ace Attorney, One Piece, Death Note, and Detective Conan. SCRAP's The Legend of Zelda-inspired Real Escape Game will debut in San Francisco in January and run in seven other American cities.

The snack and candy company Glico is partnering with the manga to release a limited-edition winter version of its Mild Café Au Lait drink. The drink will go on sale in Japan on January 30 and retail for 129 yen (about US$1).

Crane King's Creator×Creator figure series released a Kan Ki figure as part of the project. The figures debuted in Crane King's prize machines across Japan on Tuesday. The eight-centimeter (about three-inch) figure is available in two colors:

The Creator×Creator series brings together teams of sculptors and photographers to create special figures for anime such as One Piece, Lupin the Third, and Haikyu!!. Shintarō Takahashi and Akihiro Kawauchi teamed up for this Kingdom collaboration, and the duo already released Xin and Kyō Kai figures earlier this year.
