My Melody Pulls Ahead in Sanrio's 2016 Character Popularity Poll

My Melody has pulled ahead of last year's winner and preliminary front runner Pom Pom Purin in Sanrio's 2016 character popularity poll. Purin is trailing behind Melody in second place followed by the steadfast Cinnamon in third. Hello Kitty has managed to jump the ranks from eighth to fourth with Gudetama holding his own in fifth.

Examples include Hello Kitty and Funassyi, Gudetama and Godzilla, and Little Twin Stars and Care Bears. Sanrio is already moving forward with the Gudetama x Godzilla campaign despite the ongoing poll.
