Steiff Also Makes Limited-Edition Plush Pikachu — for 45,000 Yen

Steiff, a German high-end stuffed animal and toy maker, will create a limited edition Pikachu plush for 45,000 yen (US$365). Only 1,000 of the popular Pokémon will be handmade using supersoft mohair for his fur.

Pikachu will ship in February. He measures 280mm high (11in), the perfect size for snuggling.

Given his hefty price tag, fans might want to consider pre-ordering Build-A-Bear's web exclusive Pikachu. He isn't made of mohair but he talks, comes with two outfits and a trading card for US$60. Only you can decide in favor of value or luxury.

Steiff previously created similarly priced Hello Kitty and Hatsune Miku bear plushes.
