Dead or Alive Creator Tomonobu Itagaki is Sad About DoA 5
posted on by Bamboo Dong
Dead or Alive original creator Tomonobu Itagaki has been pretty busy as of late. He's working on a new project due out next year with a new studio, Valhalla Game Studios, called Devil's Third, and he interacts closely with his fans, often responding to questions and comments left on his Facebook page. (He's apparently also raising this adorable puppy.)
Itagaki left Tecmo in 2008, before the development of Dead or Alive 5 began, making it the first, and so far only, game in the main series without his involvement.
When a fan commented on his page, "But the last DoA, DoA 5 was really bad. No more love, no spirit (like multiplayer lobby garden :D). Dark, ugly graphic style and a bad feeling when you play it that this is not DoA," Itagaki replied, saying:
"I can feel you. I have started to find how/what I can do for my daughter/DOA. Straightly speakin', my daughter was totally ruined, spoiled. I can't/shouldn't avert my eyes from that fact. Many DOA fans here are crying, I will do something for DOA after I finished Devil's Third."
