.moe Domains Now Available for All Fans

Interlink Co., a Japanese Internet service provider, opened general registration for anyone coveting a ".moe" internet domain on Tuesday. Registration costs 1,944 yen (about US$19).
Interlink polled visitors at Paris' Japan Expo earlier this month to gauge interest in the .moe internet domains. The response was overwhelming. So far, video game developer AQUAPLUS, the makers of Utawarerumono, To Heart, and White Album, registered their website. Others include IHANet, dojin group Castanet, and Canadian idols Ally and Sally.
The company also held a logo contest with a 2,000,000 yen prize (US$19,688). The winner was chosen in May. The winning design shows a cutely colored ".moe" with a star replacing the dot.
