Anime Short Tells High Schoolers to Say to No to Smoking

Okayama Prefecture released an education DVD anime to advise minors not to smoke cigarettes. The video stars a high school basketball player with his eyes on a fellow female classmate. However, his endurance during practice has taken a hit due to his smoking habits. When his crush and her friends discover he smokes, they quit showing up to watch him practice.

According to a 2010 survey, about 3.3 percent of high school boys and 1.2 percent of high school girls in Okayama Prefecture smoke. The prefecture has set a goal to completely eliminate smoking among high schoolers.
