3rd Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers Promo Video Previews Story

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
PS3 game slated for October 17 in Japan with 50+ playable characters

Bandai Namco Games began streaming the third promotional video for the Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers PlayStation 3 game on Thursday. The video highlights the game's story, in which the Seiya warriors must invade the temple of the sea god Poseidon in order to defeat his Marina warriors and save both the planet and Athena.

Dimps is developing the game, which will include playable characters from the Sanctuary, Poseidon, and Hades arcs from Masami Kurumada's mythological fantasy manga and anime. Up to two players can fight as Pegasus Seiya, Phoenix Ikki, Andromeda Shun, Cygnus Hyōga, and Dragon Shiryū with more than 50 playable characters planned in all. Gemini Saga, Sea King Poseidon, and Meiō Hades will also appear for the first time in a game adaptation as bosses. Players will be able to enhance their characters' hit points, strength levels and "Cosmos Power Gauge" as they progress through the game.

The game is slated for release in Japan on October 17. The first copies of the game will come with a product code for Gold Gloth Shion and saint custom theme. There will be a limited-edition 13,480-yen (US$135) Pegasus Box with the game itself, a Pegasus Seiya Shinsei Bronze Cloth Original Color Edition figure, a product code for the same Bronze Cloth in the game, and a box.

Namco Bandai Games is also releasing the game outside of Japan in North America, Europe, Australasia, and South America. The game will be a digital download in North America on November 26, and in stores in Mexico, Brazil, and the rest of Latin America.
