North American video game publisher XSEED Games and Japanese publisher Kadokawa Games began streaming the latest trailers for its upcoming release of Grasshopper Manufacture's Killer is Dead video game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The videos are identical, except the Japanese version has an extra cut scene featuring Mondo's boss, Vivienne Squall.
XSEED plans to release the game in North America this summer.
The game stars Mondo, an "executioner" whose job it is to kill various heinous criminals. Executive director Suda51 stated the game will be full of the "condensed essence" of his previous "assassin games" such as killer7 and No More Heroes. He also noted that the game will feature sword fighting action just as No More Heroes does, and that it will be a "brilliant" game that goes in a different direction from the "pop and cute" Lollipop Chainsaw.
