Fafner Exodus Sequel to Reunite Staff With Song by Angela
posted on by Egan Loo
The anime studio XEBEC zwei opened a page for the upcoming Fafner sequel, Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Agressor: Exodus, on Tuesday. The page reveals that the sequel is set in the year 2151, two and a half years after the film Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth. The website lists three taglines: "The curtain rises on a new chapter," "Rule of Engagement Alpha is the order to avoid contact with humanity," and "the name of the second-generation Tsubaki is Oriki Minashiro."
The sequel will reunite the main staff from the first Fafner anime series, including director Nobuyoshi Habara at XEBEC zwei and Xebec. Tow Ubukata is writing the project, and King Records' Gou Nakanishi is a producer. Hisashi Hirai and Naohiro Washio are drafting the character and mechanical designs, respectively. Mitsuko Sekimoto is once again serving as the color key artist, and Takashi Aoki is the director of photography.
Tsuneyoshi Saito is scoring the soundtrack, while the band angela will return to perform the theme song. Takashi Noto is credited as the chief director.
The Ginza Hakuhinkan Theater had already revealed last September that Sōkyū no Fafner Exodus was green-lit for this year. Ubukata revealed in December that he has plans to release both film and television anime projects in development for the Summer-Fall 2013 timeframe.
