Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's 3rd Alpha Demo Streamed
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Square Enix began streaming a four-minute gameplay video on Wednesday for the alpha version of its updated massive multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The video continues the tour of the revamped Black Shroud area in the game. The Black Shroud is the name of the wooded area surrounding Gridania, an area covered in the first alpha demo video.
The video is in English but only features gameplay from the Japanese version. Square Enix announced in September that alpha testing will begin this winter, and Square Enix is still recruiting testers on Windows PCs.
The current incarnation of Final Fantasy XIV went offline on November 11 with plans to migrate players over to the new game. Producer Naoki Yoshida had revealed at Germany's GamesCom event in August that the game will undergo server-load tests this fall. Square Enix then revealed in the "Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live Part IV" web program earlier this month that the beta test will run from late January to early February.
