Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's Alpha Demo Video Streamed
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Square Enix began streaming a four-minute gameplay video on Thursday for the alpha version of its massive multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The video takes a tour of the revamped Gridania area in the game.
Square Enix has also posted the same video in Japanese, French, and German, although the gameplay featured in all the videos is taken from the Japanese version of the game. Square Enix announced in September that alpha testing will begin this winter, and Square Enix is already recruiting testers on Windows PCs.
The current incarnation of Final Fantasy XIV will go offline on November 11 with plans to migrate players over to the new game. Producer Naoki Yoshida had revealed at Germany's GamesCom event in August that the game will undergo server-load tests this fall and enter a beta test period this winter.
