Root Five's Dasoku to Perform 3rd Kingdom Ending Theme
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Dasoku, a member of the popular Nico Nico band Root Five, will perform the third ending theme song "Never Ending" for the Kingdom television anime series. Dasoku himself has said that he has been following Yasuhisa Hara's original historical war manga since it began serialization, and that the series is His Favorite manga. The duo BOUNCEBACK (Hikaru no Go, InuYasha, Lovely Complex) is handling the lyrics and composition for the song. The song will premiere with the show's January 7 episode.
The CD containing the single will ship on January 30 for 1,260 yen (about US$15). A special edition with a bundled DVD containing the music video and a behind-the-scenes video will cost 1,890 yen (about US$23). To commemorate the release, Dasoku will host a special event at the Akihabara UDX building in Tokyo on December 18.
Studio Pierrot's anime adaptation premiered in June, and Funimation is simulcasting the series as it airs. The series follows Li Xin and Hyō, two boys without families in the Warring States Period when China has been embroiled in war for five centuries. Despite living like slaves, the boys strive to realize their dream of becoming warlords. The original manga has been running in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine since 2006 and the 28th volume shipped on Monday.
