Madoka Magica's Urobuchi Tells Why October 3 Is Madoka's Birthday

Author and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi confirmed on Wednesday why October 3 is the birthday of the main lead Madoka Kaname from his Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series. The writer and the other creators first developed the story under the working name Mahō Shōjo Mokushiroku Madoka Magica (literally, Magical Girl Revelation Madoka Magica, a reference to the Biblical book). The submitted draft of the project's proposal happened to have a file creation date: October 3.
Urobuchi notes that October 3 is also the birthday of Waver, a character from another project he co-conceived, Fate/Zero. However, he added that it must have been the studio Type-Moon that decided on Waver's birthday.
