'Pixilated' film by the animator Animatsuda, shot outside London's Tate Modern Gallery.
The London-based female Japanese animator Miho Lomon, aka Animatsuda (website), has posted a 91-second stop-motion film on youtube, above. The 'onedan' (Japanese cheerleading) video was made using members of the public in a stop-motion style called pixilation.
It was shot outside London's Tate Modern gallery during the Thames Festival in September 2011, which commemorated the six-month anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The film was part of a venture by a group called the Akari Lantern Project, which has raised over £2,300 for the Japan Society Tohoku Relief Fund.
The animator Animatsuda visits charity events and films people to support Japan. Her earlier 'onedan' film can be seen here.
