Smartphone App Recreates "Calls" With Voice Actors/Actresses
posted on by Ko Ransom
"Seiyuu Plus," a smartphone application that recreates live phone calls from well-known voice actors, was released on Friday by TMS Entertainment. The application includes voice recordings that are matched to each actor's personality or specialty, simulating "open and friendly" conversations with a friend, lover, or sibling, wake-up and good night calls, special rare conversations that can only be heard on certain days, and so on. Example conversations feature Ayana Taketatsu apologizing for falling asleep at the pool, and Yūki Kaji asking the user to help him choose what to eat for lunch. The application also includes a feature where the content of the conversations becomes deeper the more the application is used.
The first set of featured voices includes recordings from Ayana Taketatsu, Yūki Kaji, Shizuka Itou, Kishô Taniyama, Atsuko Tanaka, and Eriko Nakamura, with Tsubasa Yonaga and Asami Shimoda also planned for a later update. The application will cost 300 yen (about US$3.50) a month for access to one voice, and 500 yen (about US$6) a month for access to three voices.
