Takanori Nishikawa, the singer better known as T.M. Revolution, posted a photograph of himself on January 2 with the following caption:

Nishikawa held his "T.M.R. New Year Party '12 Live Revolution" concerts on January 1 and January 2 at Tokyo's Nippon Budōkan arena. As a special New Year's gift to the 20,000 attendees, he dressed up in a red checkered costume and performed a "New Year's karaoke party" cover of the "Heavy Rotation" song by the all-female idol group AKB48. (The song begins with, "1, 2, 3, 4! I want you! I need you! I love you!")
According to the entertainment news source Natalie, he also danced in "flawless choreography" with his female backup dancers. He then commented with a wry smile to his cheering fans, "Even if you hate this 'Nishikawa-chan,' please don't hate T.M. Revolution!"
Nishikawa has often held concerts during the New Year's holidays, although he had to rest his vocal cords for one week after New Year's Day last year due to acute inflammation of his vocal cords. Nishikawa sang theme songs for the anime titles Bleach: Jigoku-hen, Sengoku Basara Two, D.Gray-man, Darker than Black, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Rurouni Kenshin, and Soul Eater.
