3rd Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index Light Novel Tops Chart
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The third volume of Kazuma Kamachi's Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index, Kazuma Kamachi's sequel to the popular Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index) light novel series, topped Oricon's bunko (trade paperback book) sales chart during the December 5-11 week. The book sold 89,000 copies in its first two days of sales.
The latest light novel in the sequel series is the 3rd consecutive light novel to top Oricon's book ranking chart after the first and second novels topped the chart in March and August respectively. As of August, the original series, the side stories, and the sequel series had sold 12.3 million copies altogether.
The first Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series inspired two television anime series, as well as A Certain Scientific Railgun manga that inspired its own anime franchise. A Toaru Majutsu no Index film adaptation was green-lit in October.
