Dragon Quest's Slime Pork Buns Planned by FamilyMart
posted on by Egan Loo
The editors of Shueisha's V Jump magazine posted photographs of the Slime nikuman (pork bun), inspired by the Dragon Quest role-playing games, that the Japanese convenience store chain FamilyMart displayed on Monday. FamilyMart plans to sell the buns in the near future.
Slime is the iconic early-stage monster that has appeared in the Dragon Quest franchise from the very first game in 1986. It has come to symbolize not only the Dragon Quest franchise, but the franchise's developer Enix (later Square Enix) itself.
V Jump also highlighted the stackable, positionable Slime Tower Speakers that Hori will begin selling in November for 4,743 yen (about US$62).

Update: FamilyMart will begin selling the nikuman nationwide in late November for 170 yen (about US$2.20). FamilyMart assures that it is not using artificial food coloring for the blue color. The pork inside is flavored with soy sauce and oyster sauce. Source: Famitsu
