Ghost in the Shell's Optical Camouflage Camera App Posted
posted on by Egan Loo
The anime studio Production I.G began offering an Optical Camouflage Camera app inspired by the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime on Thursday. The app allows an Apple iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad (with a compatible camera) to take photographs and videos of objects and people as they seemingly "turn transparent and blend in with the background." The app duplicates the special effect seen in the future paramilitary police anime to depict the story's optical camouflage technology.
Production I.G also released a Ghost in the Shell:S.A.C. SSS 3D Cyber Clock app in May and a Character Music Player-Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Section 9 app in July.
The Optical Camouflage Camera app costs US$1.99 or 170 yen, and it comes with free background artwork from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society film.
