Galaxy Express 999 Game Holds Miss Maetel Idol Contest

The pachinko machine maker Kyoraku Sangyo is hosting a "Miss Maetel Contest 2011" modeling contest to commemorate the release of its "Bikkuri Pachinko Galaxy Express 999" pachinko machines.
The website for the contest allows visitors to vote for one of 30 models who is dressed as Maetel. Visitors to the site can click on a picture of each model to view a video of her dressed as Maetel in one of six situations: at a home, park, store, beach, office or on a road. The video also shows the model speaking one of Maetel's lines, and introducing herself while wearing a swimsuit. Visitors can vote on a model until September 10. The winning model will get her photo published in Shueisha's Weekly Playboy magazine.
Galaxy Express 999 creator Leiji Matsumoto will also draw an illustration featuring Maetel together with one voter, chosen via lottery. 30 voters will also receive an original Zippo lighter.
